BU Shutouts East Stroudsburg in Field Hockey

EAST STROUDSBURG--Maggey Bloskey (Danville/Danville) and Chelsea Due (Pen Argyl/Pen Argyl) each scored two goals and Jamie Vanartsdalen (Huntingdon Valley/Lower Moreland). scored once and had one assist to lead the number one ranked Bloomsburg University field hockey team to a 7-0 win over East Stroudsburg on Wednesday.

The Huskies wasted little time taking control of the game with Samantha Kropa (Tunkhannock/Lackawanna Trail) scoring just 1:11 into the game. That was followed 15 seconds later by Vanartsdalen's goal to make it 2-0 with less than 90 seconds played in the game.

Bloomsburg added two more first half goals, one by Bloskey and the other by Due for a 4-0 lead at the break. In the second half, Due, Bloskey and Venessa Witman (Oley/Oley Valley) all scored in the 7-0 victory.

Allison Ziants (Winfield/Selinsgrove) made five saves in goal for the Huskies.

Bloomsburg, 5-0, 1-0 in the PSAC East, will host Millersville on Saturday at noon.
